Romans 12:9-13
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

Because of the gifts and calling, we must exercise these in love and grace actively to each other. True love is straightforward and has no hidden side or agenda. We are to hate what is evil as we hold good tightly to our breast, showing that good in acts of sacrificial, generous love to each other. So we must be zealous in these good outworking areas as we serve our Lord and meet the needs of others. This helps us to have joy in hope and steadfastness in trials while we call on God constantly.
