Romans 15:30-33
30 Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me, 31 that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, 32 that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Paul asked for prayers along with his own while he labored in the gospel, to be saved from the opposed and to serve God acceptably. He wanted to see the joy in doing God’s will and to find times of refreshing of heart and strength of will to run that race. He then prays for the God of peace to be with the readers. Today is Christmas, and we pray for God’s word become man to bring peace to as many as He calls, that they may be reconciled with Him in His Son whose appearance into this world we celebrate. Though existing before time and the universe, He entered as we are to suffer and die in our stead that we might be free from His wrath for our sin’s due accountability and death. Glory to God in the highest, and peace in Christ to His people!
