34 “Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
We are as salt that adds lasting flavor and offers to preserve what is good through the words of hope, the good news. If we become as what we were rescued and set apart from, then we are good only for the trash. To be of value we do not need to be relevant to society, but to God and His words - true seasoning does not add to or mask life's flavor, it gives it real taste. So we do not adapt truth to attract moths to our flame, but present it with its inherent flavor to those who are looking to hear it...
