Acts 1:9-11
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
Jesus commissioned His followers to give testimony of what they had seen and heard and then saw Jesus go up into heaven. They were assured by angels that He would come back down the same way when it was time for His return. We also have this call and hope, certain and clear. Many will try to explain it all away, but for us who have been reconciled and know His living presence within us, we have a certainty in hope and mercy that cannot be lost or taken away from His almighty hand.
