Acts 2:22-24
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know— 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
Israel saw God in Jesus by all He did and said, then God delivered His Son as He planned in order to suffer and be killed on a cursed tree. But He also planned for Jesus to defeat death as man and God, making a way for us to be called to faith and life from spiritual death from our sin. This was God's plan and purpose set from before time and given through Jesus Christ. The binding chains of sin are loosed and dead men now live for God in Him.
