Mark 14:41-42, 49-50
41 Then He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand." 49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” 50 Then they all forsook Him and fled.
Jesus, completely righteous, was given over into the hands of sinners - betrayed. But He only allowed that to occur on His timetable, not allowing it until it was the time God already said it would be. Because He is completely sovereign over everyone and even history from the beginning of time to its end, it was so. Do we then deny Him and run, or do we stand secure as ambassadors of certainty?
