Mark 4:26-29
26 And He said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
God's kingdom grows in the heart of man by His word which is sown. Those who hear and heed take root and grow, one step at a time until mature. The harvest takes these of the kingdom to Himself - it is God's kingdom - but those not taking root or as unfruitful weeds are burned. This parable shows us the word of the gospel must change a man if he is to be gathered to God in the end, and that growing to maturity takes time.
