Mark 3:13-15
13 And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:
Jesus calls those He wants, and we cannot come unless He first calls (John 6:44). He appoints or commissions us then with His power and authority (Matthew 28:19-20) to bring wholeness to lost souls He is calling - it is a privilege to call out to those He is calling, for He could just continue doing so Himself as here with the apostles. But instead, we have the honor of holding forth and fast the good news of the reconciliatory forgiveness of God's mercy to us the undeserving. What a wonder!
