Mark 3:32-35
32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers [and Your sisters] are outside seeking You.” 33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?” 34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”
We who are adopted by God our Father through His Son Jesus Christ are brothers and sisters of Him. We are now of God's family and seek Him as we do His will - that is, we believe the testimony of forgiveness and grace in Christ and follow in obedience out of love because of that. We do not do this to gain His favor, but in thankful response out of love.
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
