Matthew 16:27-28
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. 28 Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”
If we lose the world and gain Christ and His kingdom, then we can rejoice to see His return, confident in His work up to, on, and beyond the cross. Some will taste spiritual "death" as they suffer forever because they did not gain Christ, but we who have will live forever. The disciples saw His return from death, and we will see the final rerun and be with Him forever - because we lost our lives for His.
