Matthew 24:15, 21-22
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), ... 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
When idolatry and a false God are worshipped in God's house, the end of this world is near, but so is the beginning of the remade one to come where God is before us! Though the end will get worse, He will shorten the days for those He calls out, either in taking them home, or in figuratively making them seem to go by faster, or speeding up,the events leading to His return. One thing to know is He holds us if we are His forever, so we have hope no matter what we endure or suffer.
