Few Laborers, Plentiful Harvest

Matthew 9:36-38
36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

After Jesus healed many with the gospel and in their bodies, He was moved for the many who were lost without God, starving for Him and sick in spiritual starvation. He then called His close followers to pray for more workers to go to the fields and gather the harvest - Jesus was drawing men to Himself and needed people to go tell the gospel to reap what God had sowed.
