Matthew 7:28-29
28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
When Jesus taught, every word came from God Himself - He had the authority of the Almighty, and people listening heard this. They were astonished that one who appeared to be another religious teacher was not giving opinions or options, but absolute truth with the associated consequences in what He spoke. The scribes learned and taught, but it was as our modern university degrees, teachings from man to man. The words Jesus spoke are from God, and so we are taught by Him in order to teach others now. Or at least, this is what we should be doing.
