John 4:21-26
21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
Worship of God is not constrained to one certain city or place, but in the heart of the worshipper as a living temple where God takes up residence. Real worship is not in rituals nor in the right building, it is true spiritual honoring and exaltation of our creator and Lord from within. The Messiah, the Christ - Jesus - He is who told us this, He who is God's very word. He is the source of all authority, and so is true and worthy to be praised.
