Matthew 5:21-22
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ 22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.
Ephesians 4:26-27
26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil.
Psalms 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
Murder begins in the thoughts and intents of the heart as anger, and indeed the anger itself is murder. So we are all guilty of murder from within if we do not deal with anger that the adversary revels in. As David said, we should stop and think over what and why we are angry at another, calming and not acting spitefully to others in return - but rather giving the anger and the situation to God, finding peace and humility in Christ. This is never easy, but essential.
