Mark 13:12-13
12 Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Following Christ not only brings tribulation and suffering from the world, but can also come from family. Jesus told us the kingdom of God in His name would be like a sword dividing family members, and we see this already in Muslim and Hindu cultures where harassment and death are doled out when family members become Christians. We endure for the one who suffered and died for us on the cross, for He rose from death as we shall with Him also. This is our certain hope.
