Honor and Glorify God in Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13
9 In this manner, therefore, pray: our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

To honor God in prayer we must begin with confessing who He is, praising His name as the one above all others. We should not ask for how we want things to change or our view of the results, but that God's planned will is brought to fruition. We ask to not go in need and to be forgiven as we continue to fall short - knowing others do so to us and forgiving them as well. We ask to be kept from the wiles of the devil and our own fallen flesh, and tell Him we bow to His absolute authority in all things. Let it be so.
