Matthew 7:6.
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
It is thought that small pearls that look like peas would attract swine to try to eat, but finding them inedible would turn in anger to attack the one deceiving them. Just like throwing holy meat from the temple sacrifice which was to be offered to God, giving what is God's to those opposed to the Gospel leads to anger by some who cannot understand. And they turn to attack. Wisdom then is being sensitive to God's Spirit when wariness is needed, and boldness in the face of attacks when they come.
