Matthew 7:7-8
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
We have not when we do't ask, yet we also ask selfishly and don't receive as James wrote. If we are asking for the things to glorify God, we should persevere in prayer, continuing to ask God, not giving up seeking for the right things, and knocking at His door at the throne of grace. He answers such sincere persistent prayer when we seek His kingdom and righteousness above all else. So we do not lose hope and press on in communion with our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
