Matthew 6:22-23
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
If our eye is good, focused singly on the one thing (the good that God says) and not divided in its focus, then we walk rightly and see clearly (righteously). But if the eye is set on evil, not on God and His kingdom and righteousness, then what could be illuminated is darkened completely. To not know and follow Christ is like groping around in the dark of a deep cave, not seeing the walls nor the way out. But when He calls us out of darkness and into His marvelous light, how great indeed is that sight in the light!
