John 4:43-45
43 Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee. 44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast.
Jesus avoided the area where He grew up to others who would receive Him and listen to the good news because of all they saw in Him and what He had done, just as the outcasts of Samaria had heard Him and seen. So often we find that the people we grow up with or unbelieving family refuse to see the change in us from Christ in us, and so listen little to the same gospel truth others hunger for. Those who look at the witness alone miss the truth and its life changing impact.
