Jesus Equal with God

John 5:17-19
17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

Not only did Jesus do good on the Sabbath, He called God His Father.  He made Himself equal to God - which is why His acts ruled the day of rest, not the interpretation of others.  So they tried to kill the one they called a blasphemer who said He was God.  And He is.  Yet in the role of the Son, Jesus followed His father's deeds and will.  Jesus Christ is God, and we who follow Him do also as God says rather than men.  All we are able to do is by His authority and power and will.
