Mark 9:30-32
30 Then they departed from there and passed through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know it. 31 For He taught His disciples and said to them, “The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.” 32 But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.
Jesus knew if He made His whereabouts known as the rulers began openly to try to kill Him, that the time was not right. So He quietly went toward that inevitable death - in His time. He had to do as He said from centuries before; as God, He was the word given of how and when to die for us. His sovereign plan included both death and resurrection, but the disciples could not grasp it, and were too afraid to ask because they must have feared the answer...
