Matthew 19:27-30
27 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore what shall we have?” ... 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
When we give up owning whatever we possess, then we see the riches we have in Christ - more than we can imagine. This does not always mean we have nothing else in this life; He provides for our necessities and more as He wills. In he end, we inherit all forever, and so do not seek to be on top in this life unless granted by grace. It is the aim and attitude of our heart that concerns God and honors Him.
