Why do we obey what God says? It must be for Him, and not to show others. This should then motivate us further to work to achieve something in the deliverance from sin and its punishment we have been given. This should cause us to shake and fear what we have been delivered from and the wrath of God that once was upon us! The hope we have is that God Himself is causing us to even desire to obey (out of love) and to be able to do all we must.
Philippians 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
