Esther 10:1-3 - God Works Everything for Good

Esther 10:1-3

Mordecai’s Advancement

1 And King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea. 2 Now all the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia? 3 For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

Mordecai had been used to move Esther for such a moment to save God’s people, expose an assassination plot against the king, and reveal treacherous Haman as one out for genocide for money as he tricked the king into passing a law to destroy and annihilate the queen’s people and her with Mordecai in the process.  The LORD turned the evil on itself and stopped a;p these things, resulting in the king’s gratitude overflowing onto Mordecai in great honor and advancement to the second in command under King Ahasuerus over the vast Median-Persian empire.  He was held in high esteem by both the citizens of the empire and his own people because he was out for their good and welfare, not his own power or position.  He sought peace within the land as we are to do in God’s kingdom (Psalm 34:14, Matthew 5:9, Hebrews 12:14, John 15:13, 1 John 3:16) now in Christ by the power of His Spirit living in us as we follow Him and His word.  Who knows when the Lord may bring us to such a place as this for His kingdom’s work?  May we be like faithful Mordecai and willing to stand in the gap to save others even if we risk our lives as Esther did.  We remember that God works everything together for good (Romans 8:32) to establish His Kingdom and save His chosen ones.
